Behind the Scenes: Meeting the Co-Founders

The Beginning of Entitled:
From a Cubicle to Entrepreneurship

“It all started in an unlikely place: a cubicle.”

At my previous organisation, I got lucky to work with Krishna and Arpan. These guys weren't just colleagues; they were brilliant minds, destined to be my co-founders at Entitled.

We were running a personnel services business focused on blue-collar workers. One big issue we faced was high turnover among our workforce. Many of these workers were spread across different sites, and they didn't really know much about the organization they were working for.

So, Krishna, Arpan, and I embarked on a journey to figure out how we could engage and retain our workers better. Our search led us to a surprising problem: the financial struggles of our blue-collar workers.

Every few months, they needed small advances and loans. What surprised us even more was that they were turning to informal lenders, paying exorbitant interest rates. One worker borrowed INR 10,000 and ended up returning it in just 5 days, along with an additional INR 1000 in interest.

That's where Entitled Solutions began. Krishna's financial wizardry and Arpan's operational expertise became the backbone of our venture. We couldn't believe that no one was addressing this issue, especially considering there are over 100 million blue-collar workers in India.

We spent countless hours shaping and refining our vision, turning it into something real. We already knew we worked well together. So, when it came to committing to Entitled full-time, it was a no-brainer. We all jumped in.

Looking back, I can't help but think about how much luck had to do with it. Right place, right time, right people.

The Art of Choosing the Right Co-Founder

Did you know? A whopping 65% of startups fall apart due to co-founder conflicts. It's a big deal, and finding the right co-founder is key. Here's my take on what to look for:

Remember, in the world of startups, the harmony and dedication of co-founders often make or break the game.

So, start with a clear vision of your own. Reflect on your strengths and weaknesses. Then, embark on the journey to find those who complement and share your entrepreneurial spirit.

That's my checklist for finding a business partner. What’s yours?
